Language Quality Specialist (Japanese)

Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business and we are responsible for defining and delivering a collection of self-service performance advertising products that drive discovery and sales.
Over the years, Amazon has invested heavily in removing geographic barriers for its suppliers and helped them sell regionally or in some cases even globally. We intend to do the same for advertisers. Our mission is to build a world class Ads Localization program that removes language related barriers from advertising and help suppliers reach a global audience at scale. This will be one of a kind localization program that will use best in class machine translation technology and combine it with intelligence from human translators to deliver highest quality marketing translations. As a language quality specialist on this team, you will be responsible for auditing, reviewing and assessing the quality of marketing translations, both vendor provided and machine translation. You will work with Program and Product Managers to determine opportunities for optimizing the quality auditing processes and be the single threaded owner for translation quality for your language.
ResponsibilitiesAudit, review and bar raise quality of marketing content in your native languageMonitor external vendor quality and investigate quality variation, ensuring best in class marketing content in your native languageProvide feedback and linguistic coaching to external vendorsIdentify and pursue quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with other internal teamsResponsible for and manage language quality and maintenance of associated assetsCreate and maintain glossaries, style guides, and translation memories for assigned languagesTake part in vendor arbitration discussions and act as a linguistic consultant for vendor queriesMaintain Amazon Advertising brand and product localization standards
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSNative speaker of target language (Japanese)C2 level in EnglishExcellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and native language3+ years of marketing / marketing localization experienceExperience in translation, copywriting and proofreadingExperience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvementsExperience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze dataAttention to detailExcellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilitiesPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or a related fieldDemonstrable experience as a writer or content marketerCAT tool knowledge
